NEW COVER | Taylor Swift - Begin Again

There is no doubt I love Taylor Swift and her songs especially her new album ‘Red”. I’d love to cover all of her songs. (That’s how much I love it) lol So yeah, here’s my cover of one of her songs which is entitled Begin Again. Hope y’all will enjoy this. Please don’t mind the redness on my chest. I know it’s awful but it’s all because of my allergy not because I’m drunk. lol Suggest me some songs I’m gonna sing next.

Akasaka Cafe Macau

Fancy looking restaurant always caught my eye. Passing by at a restaurant with white bricked wall is not an exception. It looks nice, clean, and very organized. This restaurant is called Akasaka Cafe.

image

The name and the structure of this restaurant reminds me of Japan. Even the name of the restaurant is so japanese. lol

image

The interior design of this restaurant is simple yet it has an edge to it. All furnitures are white and beige.

image

Pictures of happy customers are posted in the wall.

image

Akasaka Cafe is known for their pastries. They have a pastry shop inside the restaurant.

image

Yummy looking cakes are everywhere! They also sell the most expensive macarons. The very small one costs $15 each.

image

My friends Kirstie and Keith came with us. We dine there to celebrate my birthday.

image

This is what I had that night. Seafood Pasta.

image

My husband had this Wafu Mushroom Steak which he loved.

image

The drink I cannot forget. The best Mango Milkshake I’ve tasted so far. It’s very creamy.

image

I never expected it. My friends gave me a MAC lipstick as a birthday present. I really like it. They all know I have a weakness for MAC lipstick.

image

Okay, ending this post with our group photo. I know I’m not that good in sharing my thoughts through text. If you’re keen you may watch the vlog I made about this day here.

Instagram Photos (January 2013)

I’ve been reading Cheesie of cheeserland.com for quite sometime now and noticed she usually post pictures from instagram and write a blog post  about  it. I thought of doing the same so here it goes…

image

1) My hubby bought me a 32GB iPhone 5! My iPhone 4 is still working well, unfortunately it is locked with Globe, a telecom network in the Philippines so I can’t use it in Macau. It just happen my hubby also wants an iPhone 5 so I bought one for him as well. wtf

image

2) Sushi and Mussels for appetizer from StarWorld Hotel here in Macau. We dine at Temptations Senses which offers buffet lunch / dinner. It was really good! If you’re keen, you can watch my vlog about it here.

image

3) My mom came to visit us here in Macau. :) We had a great time together. She’s going back here on April. I hope my sister can come with her.

image

4) Bought Giorgio Armani Master Corrector Concealer because Michelle Phan swears by it. It’s hella expensive, hello? it’s Armani but whatever, it’s very effecient. I never regret buying it.

image

5) Stolen picture of my hubby and I, taken by mom in Hong Kong Disneyland. We’re reviewing the map so we know exactly where we want to go.

image

6) Hang out with my chinese friend, Giovanna! She made me see how beautiful Macau is. We went to one of the heritage sites~ the Guia Fortress which is the oldest lighthouse in Macau. Want to do this again with her but she’s so busy with school and I’m busy with work. hmmm. This is what adult life gives you.

image

7) A picture with my colleagues because I love being with them. I really have a nice working environment. In this picture, I am the only Filipino. They are all chinese.

image

8) Best tasting Portuguese Egg Tarts! Everyone should try this!

image

9) Double Cheeseburger + Twister Fries from McDees.

Thinking of doing this post on a monthly basis. Are you also doing the same? :)

Twenty four

It’s February 4 once again. If you didn’t know, it’s my birthday! It’s my first time to celebrate it here in Macau. My husband fetched me and as we walk home, we talked about our plan of celebrating my birthday on the other day because of our complicated schedules.

As I walked through our room, I found these on our bed.

Isn’t it lovely? My hubby got them for me. Cute mini cakes. It’s quite pricey than buying one full sized cake but he personally chose this because it looks cute and we can have different varieties.

I really didn’t expect for anything that day because my hubby and I are so busy with a lot of stuff and I usually go home at 4 in the morning. I am soo happy!

My hubby is really sweet. I love him sooo much! The I-heart-YOU candles are so adorable I want to keep it forever. LOL

Among all the cakes, this one is my favorite. It tastes so good. The top part is mousse, the middle is chiffon, and the lower part is chocolate cookie. It even has a gold foil that makes it so expensive.

This banana stuffed in chocolate roll, topped with strawberries and cream. Sooo delicious!

I forgot what this is called. It looks good and tastes good as well.

These cakes are baked in perfection. It is sooo good! If you want to get these for yourself, you can go to Cafe Free. These cakes are sold for $22 - $25 per each.

At work, my colleagues also gave me a Green Tea Mousse cake.

I had an awesome birthday. I had a birthday dinner at Akasaka Cafe and had a lunch at Robuchon Au Dome which is said to be the No. 1 fine dining restaurant in Asia. I will be going to blog about it on my next post.

Even though I wasn’t able to celebrate my birthday with my family, I am still happy because my husband made me feel so loved and so special.

Review: Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black

I can not attest why many people around the world loves Japanese cosmetics. Honestly, I’ve becoming one of them as I’m starting to be a fan of their products because it work wonders on me (talk about Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, Eyelash Curler, makeup remover from Bifesta, K-Palette’s eyeliner, oh don’t get me started).

Anyways, one of the popular brand when it comes to eyeliner is Dolly Wink. It is produced by Tsubasa Masuwaka who is a famous model in Japan. She is an inspiration to people who sports gyaru fashion.

image

This eyeliner is locally available in Sasa here in Macau. Sadly, I haven’t seen any trust worthy resellers in the Philippines yet. I bought this together with my other purchases here.

PRICE:

The Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner costs MOP $110 which is around Php 561 in pesos. The price may vary because it is sold for Php 900 online.

image

PACKAGING:

This is the cutest eyeliner I have so far. I really like the packaging. It comes with the brand’s signature girly polka dot print. Looking just the design, it screams Dolly Wink.

image

EFFICIENCY:

I find this eyeliner pretty good. It’s very similar to K-Palette which is also a Japanese brand. It has a very sharp brush tip applicator that lets me create the thinnest, finest line to the thickest line depending on how heavy I apply it.

image

It is very pigmented, you’ll get a very black line even with just one swipe. The finish has a bit gloss in it just like other liquid eyeliners. If you prefer matte one, then you should use gel or cream eyeliners instead.

image

This eyeliner is smudge proof and water resistant, but it is not waterproof. It takes off easily when you rub it. I have a bad habit of rubbing my eyes so I always end up reapplying my eyeliner and checking it from time to time all through out the day. And since it is not waterproof, it can be easily remove with just soap and water. No need for expensive makeup remover.

I find this product good but I don’t think I’m going to purchase it again. I need a smudge proof and waterproof eyeliner that will last on me all day especially when I accidentally rub my eyes. When it comes to this matter, I choose K-Palette.

Review: NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation

I’m back with a new product to review! :) I know it’s been quite a while. It seems like I have abandoned my blog for four months. But hey! I’m trying to keep it up now. Today’s review is going to be about NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation.

NYX Cosmetics claims:

Our most advanced foundation uses light-diffusing ingredients that create the appearance of smooth flawless skin—even under most high-definition technology. HD Studio Photogenic Foundation is also infused with tri-peptides that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and helps rejuvenate skin. Ideal makeup for everyday use, professional shoots or anytime you’re in the spotlight.

image

Those people who are really checking the ingredients of the makeup might like this foundation because it is Talc Free and Paraben Free. Some people are keen about this fact because they say paraben are not good for the skin.

image

I researched for swatches online because there are no actual store selling NYX Cosmetics in the Philippines. They only have 8 shades~ being 1 is the lightest and 8 is the darkest. I decided to get the HDF 02 Soft Beige and boy, it was a good match.

image

The foundation comes in a plastic pump bottle. If you’re into medium coverage, one pump is enough to even out your skin tone and hide blemishes. But if you’re into heavy coverage, you can build up layers and it wouldn’t get cakey.

image

This foundation is very easy to blend. It may be a bit runny so I find it easier to use my fingers in blending the product. You may also use a brush but make sure to blend it well to avoid the appearance of streaks.

image

It leaves a velvety texture. The formula is light weight so when it dries, it will not make you feel like you’re wearing makeup. It’s not heavy so definitely it can be worn everyday. Also, being an HD Foundation, it will make your face flawless in pictures. Honestly, I don’t need to wear concealer whenever I use this except for my under eye circles of course!

image

The finish is a bit dewy but it will not make you look like you’re oily. I set my foundation using the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Powder in Nude which you can find here.

Overall, I like this product. I think it’s worth the money knowing that a bottle only cost Php 475. That’s a steal compared to other HD foundations sold in the beauty market.

For Philippine residents, you may purchase this at Purpektionshop. Visit their facebook page for more NYX products at a very affordable price.

2012 Memory Lane

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! Let’s all say goodbye to 2012 and welcome, 2013! I can’t believe how time flies so fast. Funny as it may sound, but I can still remember what I did January of last year.  lol

Year 2012 has been the most awesome year in my life so far. It is the year when I started to take my goals seriously and put it into reality. It is the year I feel like everything falls down on how I planned it to be, I always get what I want, and what I pray for is always given to me. I also experienced some difficulties, but I managed to overcome it together with my hubby.

If you’re keen, here’s a quick summary of some of the fun things I did in 2012!

January - wasn’t too exciting. I didn’t bother to make a New Year’s Resolution last year so there’s nothing to look forward to. lol

February - My birth month, I turned 23. I figured out what I want to happen with my life. I realized I’m getting old, I need to act up and chase my dreams while I am still capable of.

March - Flew to Macau with my hubby. We got close with Ate Maritess (daughter Tita Tessie, mom’s bestfriend). She is like a big sister to me. She taught us a lot of things in life. She gave us advices that are very helpful to us in making our own family and career. Hubby and I are very thankful to her. Without her, we will never be in this place where we are now.

April - Went to Mainland China for the first time. Went shopping like crazy! It was a nice place to shop.

May - Went to Hong Kong.

June - Flew back to the Philippines. My husband’s brother~ Kuya Francis who resides in the States visited us and spend some time with us. It was my first time to meet him. He’s such a nice person. My husband has a very loving family.

July - Celebrated our first year of being husband and wife. We also flew back to Macau and decided to settle there. It is also the month where I was hired as a regular singer in a restaurant. It was a fun singing and performing on stage 6 times a week. I can now officially say, I worked as a singer. lol

August - Removed my braces and felt so happy with my new set of teeth.

September - I flew back to the Philippines because my dad (from Canada) came to visit my family. Too sad my husband can’t come with me because of his work. My family and I travelled to Bacolod, Cebu, and Panglao Island, Bohol. It is my first time to ride an airplane 4 times in a span of one week.

October - Flew back to Macau to be with my husband.

November - Met a lot of super difficult to get along with people. These are the people who are very sad and frustrated with their own life that they keep us on pulling down. To their dismay, they can’t pull us down. lol

December - Spent Christmas with my mom here in Macau. Went to Hong Kong again but this time with my mom. Enjoyed all the things Hong Kong Disneyland can offer.

2012 has been so nice to me. I travelled a lot, went to places I never been, and did lots of things I want to do. I am very thankful for all the blessing God has bestowed upon me. I am so thankful because there are a lot of nice and helpful people around me like my family, my in laws, my friends, and of course my hubby. I don’t think I can accomplish a lot of things without him around.

It’s too early but I can sense 2013 will be more awesome than 2012! I am sooo excited!

Happy New Year, you guys! Here’s to more happiness, good health, success, and blessings to all!
